Obsidian Smoky Rough

Smoky or mahogany obsidian is a brown mineral, which is in fact a volcanic glass. It formed during rapid cooling of hot lava, e.g. in water or on the earth’s surface. Because this process was very quick, the individual minerals could not crystallise. The brown colour of smoky obsidian is influenced by iron admixtures in its structure.

Use: Our rough stones can be both charming interior adornments and decorations for gardens. They are also suitable for mineralogist collections and exhibitions, or even for further processing.
