Agate Half Cut Base Pink Box
Agate is a mineral formed by tiny little layers of cryptocrystalline quartz, chalcedony and opal. The product represents a rough piece of agate cut in half; the front face is polished and the base is cut flat to ensure a stable, upright position. Thanks to this treatment, the unique patterns and regular banded lines typical for this agate can stand out. Some varieties also have tiny cavities filled with little crystals of quartz. Our agates are from large mines in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil.
The intensity of agate patterns is often boosted by dyeing. Agates are porous and have good ability to absorb liquids. During the dyeing process, the liquid soaks into individual layers of agate according to the level of their porosity. These agate breads are dyed with pink dye.
About the product: Set of premium polished agate halves with cut base. The box contains smaller pieces - approx. from 5 to 9 cm. Minerals are arranged on paper shreds in a cardboard box with a lid. Box sets provide a comprehensive presentation of minerals.
Size of the box: approx. 280 x 190 x 90 mm
Weight of the box: approx. 1.6 - 1.8 kg
