Kyanite Crystal

Kyanite usually comes in blue tones, which gave this stone its name (the Greek word kýanos means blue). However, other shades of white, green, yellow or pink often occur as well. This form of kyanite forms crystals of higher quality - they are bigger, thicker, partly translucent and they boast beautiful deep-blue colours. The mineral comes from the locality Kadunguri Whiteschists in Zimbabwe.
