Labradorite is a colourless or grey-white, to blue-grey mineral. The stone boasts intense blue-green iridescence, which means that the colours change with the viewing angle. The design of this stone resembles a peacock feather. It was discovered on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada in the 18th century. European deposits are in Finland, which produces labradorite under a trade name spectrolite. However, the primary source of both raw and processed labradorite is Madagascar, which is where our raw material is from too.

If we look at its chemical structure, labradorite is a variety of plagioclase feldspar.
