Obsidian alias volcanic glass. Obsidians are formed uniquely – during a rapid, hot lava cooling, e.g. in water or on the Earth’s surface. The process is so fast that the individual minerals do not have enough time to crystalize. This piece is from the USA.

Snowflake Obsidian uniqueness: Snowflake obsidian is a real marvel. You cannot confuse it with other stones for its white, chistobalite snowflakes on a black foundation. It is approximately two and a half million years old mineral “born” from a volcanic eruption in Spring, Utah, where you can find it even today.

Special conditions/ treatment: Obsidian is stable against most acids. However, be careful when handling with the stone, as it is fragile.

About the product: The product is packed in firm plastic bags.
