Smoky Quartz Cut Shapes
Smoky quartz is a specific variety of quartz with admixtures of aluminium and iron. These admixtures (and sometimes also irradiation) are responsible for smoky quartz’s colour - it varies from dark, semitrasparent to translucent smoky brown. Sometimes, the colour can be patchy or “cloud-like”. The hue of this stone has been enhanced by irradiation. The deposits of smoky quartz are located in the Alps, Czechia or in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. These stones come from China.
