Moon Stone MIX Rough
The name moonstone refers to a milky variety of adularia quartz feldspar (or sanidine, rarely albite). It is a national stone of Sri Lanka, where it is quite common. However, this piece is from India. Moonstone is unique for its light gloss, which intensifies with the right cut of the stone. Moonstone usually comes in its translucent variety, which is colourless or in white, light orange or blue-grey shades.
Special conditions/ treatment: Moonstone is stable against some acids. Please, ask an expert before cleaning it. You can also handle it like feldspars.
Use: Our rough stones are a beautiful interior adornment – filling up a vase, fountain or a lamp with them creates an original design. In the exterior, they may be a perfect decoration of gardens. They are also suitable for mineralogist collections and exhibitions. Rough minerals may also be further processed, e.g. small crystals are ideal material for pendants.
