Heliotrope India
You can recognise heliotrope for its signature green colour speckled with red spots resembling blood drops. These are influenced by hematite admixtures and other iron compounds. However, a Christian legend attributes these spots to Christ’s blood, which dropped from his body on the stones under his cross. The most renowned mines of heliotrope are in India and China.
Heliotrope uniqueness: Heliotrope from India is distinctive for its green foundation and impressive red dots, which can be 1 to 3 mm big. This heliotrope is sometimes called the blood stone – for the red dots referring to the drops of Christ’s blood.
Use: Our rough stones are a beautiful interior adornment – filling up a vase, fountain or a lamp with them creates an original design. In the exterior, they may be a perfect decoration of gardens. They are also suitable for mineralogist collections and exhibitions. Rough minerals may also be further processed, e.g. small crystals are ideal material for pendants.
