Yooperlite
Yooperlite is a syenite rich in sodalite. Syenite is a dark igneous rock that, unlike granite, doesn't contain quartz. It's formed by the slow cooling and solidification of molten magma deep beneath the Earth's surface. Yooperlite was only recently discovered in 2017 on the shores of Lake Michigan and quickly gained significant attention from collectors. It's a fluorescent mineral that glows a bright yellow or orange under UV light due to its sodalite content. It can only be found in one location in the United States, specifically on the Michigan peninsula, which makes it a highly sought-after worldwide unique.
