Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate often containing admixtures of other carbonates. The stone did not appear on the market until the 1940s, and its most famous deposits are in Argentina, Mexico, Canada, the USA and Peru. This piece is from Peru.

Stone´s uniqueness: Its pink, almost raspberry-like red colour gave this stone a nickname “raspberry stone”.

Special conditions/ treatment: Do not immerse rhodochrosite in acids as it may dissolve. Also, be careful when handling with this stone – it is fragile and may be damaged.

Use: Mini tumbled stones (chips) are used for the production of various decorative items and ornamental mosaics. Size up to 5 mm is also suitable as filling for small glass bottles.

About the product: We offer this product in 1 kg or 5 kg package; some "chips" are available in both variants. The product is packed in firm plastic bags.
